Ricky Ponting praises young Indian batter, saying, “He’s got as much talent as I did, if not more.” Young opening batsman Prithvi Shaw has been at his best in the next IPL 2022 season, collecting 160 runs in four innings for Delhi Capitals, including two half-centuries. On the other hand, he’s currently receiving a slew of offer help from David Warner, and the two make for an entertaining opening duo. Ricky Ponting, the head coach of the Delhi Capitals, has always admired Prithvi and now thinks that the young Indian player has equal, if not greater, talent than he did. Ponting remarked in an interview with The Delhi Capitals Podcast: “When I see Prithvi play, I see a guy with as much, if not more, skill as I did, and I want to be able to develop him into a player who plays over 100 Test matches for India and represents his country as much as possible. If I think back on the teams I’ve coached, that is one of the most rewarding aspects of the job.” Ponting also discussed what he enjoys most about coaching IPL teams and how he wants his players to succeed at the international level as well. see also: IPL 2022 Points Table Update: CSK vs RCB Match 22: Latest Orange Cap, Purple Cap Lists “Rohit Sharma was a teenager when I took over the Mumbai Indians.
