Babar Azam’s Karachi Kings suffer their eighth straight PSL defeat at the hands of Multan Sultans.
Multan Sultans, the defending champion, kept Karachi Kings’ hopes of winning; the Pakistan Super League alive with a seven-wicket victory over Babar Azam’s side. Multan has 14 points in eight games and is now assured of finishing; in the top two in the league with two league games remaining.
Karachi, the 2020 champion, is yet to score a point; having lost all five games at home and now three in a row in the Lahore leg of the tournament.
Multan once again demonstrated its batting depth; reaching 175-3 with three balls to spare, much to the chagrin of Babar; who will captain Pakistan in a three-test home series against Australia next month.
“We lost this game because of weak overs and fielding,” Babar explained. “If the squad performs well, the form returns, but we must give our all and return.”

Joe Clarke top-scored with 40 runs, and he and Sharjeel Khan shared a 72-run second-wicket stand (36). Imad Wasim, an allrounder, had a brief appearance; scoring an undefeated 32 off fair 16 balls, counting five fours and a six, to assist Karachi to reach their target.
