Kane Williamson named skipper as New Zealand announce squad for T20 World Cup 2024. “I’d want to extend my congratulations to everyone named today. “Representing your country at a world tournament is a special experience,” Gary Stead stated.

New Zealand Cricket have announced their lineup for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Which will be held in the United States and the West Indies. The flagship competition will begin on June 2 and will feature some of the world’s top cricket teams competing for the crown.

Veteran batter Kane Williamson was named the Black Caps’ captain for the event, leading a squad that is somewhat inexperienced. Interestingly, instead of the traditional selection committee revealing the squad. Two’special kids’ Matilda and Angus took center stage and announced it in a lovely manner.

In the tournament, New Zealand will field stars such as Finn Allen, Michael Bracewell. Rachin Ravindra, Mark Chapman, Matt Henry, and numerous others. Kane Williamson will also be competing in his sixth T20 World Cup and his fourth event as captain. The only player on the team with more experience than Williamson is Tim Southee. Both veterans will look to take the lead and hopefully lead the Black Caps to an historic victory.

“I’d want to extend my congratulations to everyone named today. It’s an exciting time to represent your country at a world championship; we anticipate that the sites in the West Indies will provide a variety of situations, and we believe we’ve chosen a squad that will be able to adapt to those conditions,” Gary Stead told NZC.

“Rachin has made every post a winner in the last 12 months. It was exciting to see him continue that trajectory over the summer in the T20 format against Australia,” he continued.
