Cristiano Ronaldo scores his first goal for Manchester United as they upset Brighton.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored Manchester United’s to begin with objectiv;e in a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday, lifting them into the Head League’s best four. Ronaldo, who had been without a objective since December and had consigned; to the seat by intervals supervisor Ralf Rangnick in later diversions, replied his faultfinders five minutes; after the break with a brilliant wrap up after being send in by Scott McTominay.
Before halftime, Brighton had the better team, with United looking fragmented and lackluster once again. But their chances of bouncing back after falling down were dash; when Lewis Dunk was send off for a foul on Anthony Elanga; which was escalate from a yellow to a red card. Even then, United failed to impress, as Brighton’s Jakub Moder curled a shot against the crossbar before Danny Welbeck; a former United striker, headed over a late chance.
After the break, Ronaldo, on the other hand, shifted the tone. He hadn’t scored in six games, his longest drought at club level since; a seven-game drought between December 2008 and January 2009. Some have argued that Ronaldo’s second tenure at United is coming to an end; but his goal against Brighton was classic Ronaldo.

When Brighton lost control and McTominay supplied Ronaldo; the latter swerved away from three defenders and hammered a shot past Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez with minimal backlift. Rangnick described the goal as “fantastic. Not only a crucial goal, but an incredible goal, and I think Cristiano put up a good effort overall. He was constantly trying to help team mates energetically; and I believe this was his greatest performance and a very, very significant goal for us in the last few weeks.”
With a well-taken single goal in stoppage time; Bruno Fernandes gave the scoreline a pleasing aspect as United surged above; West Ham United into fourth place with 43 points from 25 games. For United supporters, the first 45 minutes were difficult to watch, with Brighton appearing the more polished team. The boos at halftime might have been louder if David de Gea; hadn’t made a spectacular save to deny Moder’s header.

Brighton got themselves into trouble once more not long after as they endeavored; to play out from the back and Dunk was as well careless; conceding the ball to Elanga, who drew him back. Brighton continued to cause Fernandes to sprint absent; from the midway line and sat Sanchez down for a couple of minutes; tucking in a brilliant objective, and the has were comforted. This season, it felt like Brighton’s minute of organization together was smashed on the road; and supervisor Graham Potter appeared to regard Ronaldo’s capacities. He was also “rebuked by a world-class wrap up by a world-class player,” according to him. “Cristiano Ronaldo could be a world-class player.” I do not have anything advance to say approximately it.
