Harbhajan Singh suggests 2 changes to India’s playing 11 ahead of New Zealand clash: T20 World Cup 2021

Harbhajan Singh has requested that Ishan Kishan return at the top of the order and Shardul Thakur replace Bhuvneshwar Kumar in Team India’s starting lineup against New Zealand.

Last Sunday, India lost by ten wickets to Pakistan in their T20 World Cup opener. They’ll now face Kane Williamson and his teammates this weekend in a game that’s almost a must-win. If India loses here, they will have to rely on the results of the other Group 2 matches to qualify for the semi-finals.

Harbhajan Singh made his comments in a YouTube video posted on Saturday. The veteran off-spinner was responding to a question from a fan who wondered if India should play three spinners on Sunday. He responded by arguing that three spinners would be “too many,” and then argued for the inclusion of Kishan and Thakur.

“A lot of people want to know whether India should play three spinners. I’ll say no because three spinners will be too many. If you lose the toss then it will be a huge issue. Dew will settle in by the second innings and the spinners won’t be as successful. So we should try and play the same combination. Yes, if Ishan Kishan comes in at the top of the order then it will be brilliant. And Shardul should come in place of Bhuvneshwar. Only two spinners should play.” Harbhajan Singh said

Harbhajan Singh has previously expressed his support for Kishan’s selection. He had advocated for Kishan to replace Suryakumar Yadav in the lineup soon after India’s defeat to Pakistan. He wants KL Rahul pushed to the middle of the order, with Kishan and Rohit Sharma forming India’s opening partnership.

Kishan has been in blistering form, scoring half-centuries in both his IPL 2021 encounter and the official warm-up game against England. In Chennai Super King’s victorious campaign, Shardul Thakur was also one of the top Indian bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, on the other hand, has struggled to keep up with the speed and spice since arriving in the UAE.

Varun Chakravarthy, a mystery spinner, took the majority of the wickets in the match against Pakistan. He didn’t get the required breakthrough after generating multiple false shots. Harbhajan Singh, on the other hand, stated Team India should preserve their faith in him because he will “certainly win a game” for them.
