“I spoke with Shaheen, and he is understandably upset by the news,” PCB’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Najeebullah Soomro, quote as saying.
The 22-year-old named to Pakistan’s ODI squad for the current series in the Netherlands, but did not play in the first two games.
“Although he has made progress during his rehabilitation in Rotterdam,” Soomro said, “it is now clear that he will require more time and is likely to return to competitive cricket in October.”
