IPL 2022 UPDATE: “This Guy Is An India Player,” Ravi Shastri Says About Young Fast Bowler.
After Umran Malik’s outstanding performance against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday; former India head coach Ravi Shastri made a bold comment regarding the young pace bowler. The SunRisers Hyderabad bowlers had a rough day at work; but Umran showed brightly with his raw pace and energy, finishing with scores of 2/39.
Shastri remarked that Umran has all the makings of an India player; but that he needs to be treated properly in the mid-innings show on host network Star Sports.
“I think this boy has a lot of potential.” He has true pace, and if he hits the correct spots; he can cause a lot of batsmen problems. It’s all about how you handle him. It’ll be the messages you send him and the method you communicate with him that will matter the most.

“There’s no denying his ability. This player is from India. Only time will tell when he is ready, but the communication aspect is critical. “Handle him with care and keep him in the mix,” Shastri added.
When asked how he should be managed, Shastri suggested that the fast bowler be sent to the Indian side as a net bowler so that he may gain a feel for the culture.
“He should be kept in the Indian cricket team’s A team mix.” The selectors will have to keep a close eye on him and try to keep him in the mix as much as possible.

“Have him there if this COVID thing continues and you need net bowlers or an extended party,” Shastri added.
Before the IPL mega auction, the Sunrisers Hyderabad kept Umran Malik as one of their players.
