Notably, Dinesh became the first uncapped player to secure a deal worth more than one crore. She started the auction at INR 10 Lakh, but as the Gujarat Giants, UP Warriorz, and Royal Challengers Bangalore fought it out for the young player, the price went up to INR 1.30 Crore. Still, UP was the one who was able to secure her services.

Dinesh has proven her batting prowess time and again at the domestic level scoring a plethora of runs at several tournaments. However, the talented youngster is yet to get accustom to the demands of the big stage of WPL.

Marizanne Kapp and Radha Yadav leave UP in trouble

Meanwhile, coming back to the UP Warriorz vs Delhi Capitals Women game. After being put in to bat first, UP were blown away by a sensational opening spell by Marizanne Kapp (3/5). The right-arm seamer dismiss Dinesh, Tahlia McGrath (1 off 8) and Alyssa Healy (13 off 15) to leave UP tottering at 16/3.

Following Kapp’s new-ball spell, Radha Yadav, a left-arm spinner. Applied more pressure on UP by dismissing 4/20 in four overs, including the vital wicket of Grace Harris (17 off 18). For UP, only Shweta Sehrawat contributed a quality knock, scoring 45 (42) with five fours and one six. Thanks to her blow, UP score 119/9 in the 20 overs that they were given.
