The BCCI has announced the India ‘A’ squad for the ACC Emerging Women’s Asia Cup 2023. India ‘A’ will begin their campaign against Hong Kong on June 13.

The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) just announced the India ‘A.’ (Emerging) squad for the ACC Emerging Women’s Asia Cup 2023. The event will begin on June 12 in Hong Kong.

India ‘A’ will open their campaign against Hong Kong on June 13 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground. The competition will include eight teams split into two groups. India ‘A’ is part of Group A, which also includes Hong Kong, Thailand ‘A’, and Pakistan ‘A’.

Group B, on the other side, is made up of Bangladesh ‘A’. Sri Lanka ‘A’, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates. The tournament’s championship match will take place on June 21.

UP Warriorz’s Shweta Sherawat to lead emerging India ‘A’ side  

India ‘A’ will compete in three league matches. On June 13, they face Hong Kong, Thailand ‘A’ on June 15, and Pakistan ‘A’ on June 17. It will be intriguing to see how the team does in the event and if they are able to advance all the way.

When it came time to declare the roster, the BCCI picked Shweta Sehrawat as captain and Soumya Tiwari as vice captain. Notably, Sehrawat represented the UP Warriorz in the first Women’s Premier League (WPL). To name a few, the team features Shreyanka Patil, Kanika Ahuja, and more athletes. Furthermore, the team will be led by head coach Nooshin Al Khadeer.

Many members of the squad recently competed in the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023, where they had some standout performances. India ‘A’ would like to win the Emerging Women’s Asia Cup under the direction of Sehrawat.
