Ben Stokes confident of bowling in Ashes

Ben Stokes confident of bowling in Ashes. “I’ve worked incredibly hard with the medical team in Chennai. Who were liaising with the ECB guys, and I feel like I’m back in a 2019, 2020 space,” Stokes explained.

England captain Ben Stokes is unconcerned with his bowling performance in the Ashes this summer. The five-match series versus Australia will be played in England from June 16 to July 31. He had knee problems during his recent appearance in the 2023 IPL and England’s February trip to New Zealand.

The English all-rounder made two appearances for the IPL 2023 champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He is confident, though, that he can make a difference during the Ashes and is looking forward to the impending one-off Test against Ireland at Lord’s.

According to the 31-year-old, his knee is in much better shape than it was during the New Zealand series. He claimed that, despite spending the previous 10 weeks in India for the IPL. He had placed himself in a position where he could neither look back with regret nor say that he had not given himself the best chance to play.

“Yeah, look at how much better the knee is than it was in Wellington. ” “I’ve been in India for the last nine to ten weeks for the IPL. What I’ve done is put myself in a position where I can’t look back. I didn’t give myself the best opportunity to play a full role with the ball this summer. ” Stokes quote as saying by Belfast Telegraph.

I have certainly given myself the best chance, yet the mind and body are two separate entities: Stokes

He went on to remark that he had worked hard with the medical experts in Chennai, but that the mind and body are two very different things.

“I worked incredibly hard with the medical team in Chennai, who were liaising with the ECB guys, to get myself back into a 2019 2020 space in terms of my own body and fitness.” I have certainly given myself the best chance, but the mind and body are two separate entities. But, yes, I have given myself the best chance,” England’s captain responded.

He went on to say that the best way to get through an injury is to manage the workload and collaborate with the medical team. Stokes also stated that if necessary, he may have a cortisone shot this summer, similar to what he did in March before the start of the IPL.

“We know what it is and how to manage it.” No (surgery), just dealing with the burden and working out with the medical staff to get through it. Yeah, I just said I don’t plan ahead of time. That is obviously on the medical side of things, but if (an injection) is required, sure. ” He continued.
