As another Indian Premier League season came to an end. History repeated itself as Chennai Super Kings won the title, their fifth IPL title overall. CSK upset the defending champions, Gujarat Titans, by five wickets in a last-ball thriller at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the IPL 2023 final.

CSK fans were also heartbroken as Ambati Rayudu announced his retirement from the IPL. After CSK’s victorious campaign, Ambati Rayudu became emotional and burst into tears. The 37-year-old made it memorable for himself and the spectators by contributing meaningfully to a huge run chase. The graceful batsman blasted Mohit Sharma for 16 runs in the 13th over of the match. Reversing a momentum shift in CSK’s favor that had appeared to be slipping away.

Rayudu told Harsha Bhogle after the game in his final IPL season that it was a fantastic ending and that he couldn’t have asked for anything more. Rayudu announced before the IPL 2023 final that he will be retiring at the end of the current season.

The former Indian star went on to declare that he could grin for the rest of his life and thanked his family for their support during his IPL trip. Rayudu scored 19 runs off eight balls in the IPL 2023 final, hitting two sixes and a boundary.

We have won the championship: Deepak Chahar

CSK fast bowler Deepak Chahar joined Rayudu’s conversation with Bhogle and revealed that the 37-year-old constantly guaranteed him that CSK would win the IPL 2023 final before the contest.

“Every time we talked at dinner, he said we were going to win the championship.” “Every time we spoke, he said we’d win the final,” Chahar added.
