Ross Taylor, the experienced hitter, will play for the New Zealand XI against the Netherlands in Napier following week to induce a few diversion time some time recently his last ODI arrangement with New Zealand afterward this month. Taylor was rule out of the Central Stags’ Plunket Shield encounter on Friday due to a COVID-19 ‘household; contact.’ The 38-year-old will also play against the visiting Dutch in the second one-day warm-up match; on March 19, as well as the one-off T20 fixture on March 21 at McLean Park.

“I’m looking forward to getting down to Napier and playing at McLean Park, which is one of my favorite grounds,” Taylor said.

“I’m energized to share the dressing room with a few new and more youthful faces who I trust I can help by passing on a few shrewdness,” he said. On Walk 17 and 19, the New Zealand XI will play the Netherlands in two one-day matches at Napier, taken after by a one-off T20 experience on Walk 21.

The BLACKCAPS at that point play the Netherlands in a T20I on Walk 25 at McLean Stop; taken after by three One-Day Internationals; on Walk 29 at Mount Maunganui’s Narrows Oval and also on April 2 and 4 at Hamilton’s Seddon Park. “The Netherlands are a creating group who will welcome the opportunity to confront a Test-playing country,” Taylor included.

“They have a few recognizable players from the New Zealand; domestic scene who I’m sure will be important to them in terms of understanding the conditions,” he continued. “We know they’ll play with pride and expect them to be a good test.”

Taylor’s participation in the NZ XI team, which will be captain by Michael Bracewell; highlights a great mix of BLACKCAPS aspirants and budding talents.

In view of the unavailability of 12 BLACKCAPS regulars, including skipper Kane Williamson; who will leave for the IPL in the coming weeks, Bracewell, Dane Cleaver, and Ben Sears are very much contenders for the BLACKCAPS white-ball squads to face the Netherlands later this month.
