Craig Ervine has been named full-time limited-overs captain of Zimbabwe, but Sean Williams will continue to captain the Test team. In all three versions, Regis Chakabva will serve as vice-captain. Ervine has only captained Zimbabwe in one Test, a loss by an innings in Bangladesh, and has been in charge for 15 games. So far, he’s won six games and lost eight, and he’s been selected captain for the next tours to Ireland, Scotland, and Sri Lanka.

In other news, Lance Klusener has returned to Zimbabwe as batting coach, succeeding Stuart Matsikenyeri, who has been promoted to assistant coach. The team’s head coach, Lalchand Rajput, is still in charge.

Klusener was a member of the squad from 2016 to 2018 and served as the head coach of the Afghan national team. The bowling coach for Zimbabwe Cricket is yet to be named.

Meanwhile, Mary-Anne Musonda will lead the women’s team as captain, with Josephine Nkomo as her deputy. Gary Brent will take over as head coach for the women’s team from Adam Chifo. Between 1999 and 2008, the 46-year-old played four Tests, 70 One-Day Internationals, and three Twenty20 Internationals for Zimbabwe.
