Sanjay Manjrekar explains why he doesn’t understand Ravi “Shastri 2.0.”
Virat Kohli’s Test leadership came to an end in January, after India lost a three-match red-ball series to South Africa. Kohli stepped down as captain after the series after the visitors lost 1-2. Former head coach Ravi Shastri was a huge supporter of Kohli. In an interview with India Today, Shastri stated that if Kohli had continued as Test captain, he would have at least 50-60 victories and many people would be unable to comprehend his feat. Former teammate Sanjay Manjrekar, on the other hand, was not pleased with Shastri’s remarks.
Manjrekar told News18 that he was a “big admirer” of Shastri but didn’t comprehend his views. Manjrekar even went so far as to call it “Shastri 2.0.”
“I’m at a loss for words. Ravi Shastri was a hero of mine. I was a player under him, and he was a strong combatant and a senior. I’m not sure who Shastri 2.0 is. I don’t react to what he says in public since it’s expected “, he explained.
