Chelsea’s Premier League losing streak reached four games on Tuesday; when they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Brighton and Hove Albion, further jeopardizing their title aspirations.
Thomas Tuchel’s team took the lead against the run of play in the 28th minute; thanks to an opportune strike from Hakim Ziyech, but they lacked spark and had no complaints.
An eye-pleasing design After some sustained home pressure; Brighton were rewarded for their efforts as Adam Webster thundered a header past Kepa Arrizabalaga on the hour.

Chelsea started to rule late in the amusement; but were incapable of scoring as Brighton battled back to win a draw. Chelsea, who were serious title contenders a few weeks ago; have now scored three goals in the last 12 games and are in third place with 44 points; 12 behind leaders Manchester City; who have played one more game. They’re also one point behind Liverpool, in spite of having played two more games; and unless they begin winning once more soon, their top-four position may be jeopardized.
Brighton, who are currently in ninth place, has drawn 11 games this season; and Webster voiced regret that the club did not win all three points against the European champions.
“Throughout the game, I felt we were the better team.”
“They had a run at the end,” he remarked, “but we were the better team; the rest of the way and will hopefully win three points on another day.”
Despite Brighton’s excellent early approach play, Ziyech took aim from 25 yards; and rifled a low shot that keeper Robert Sanchez could have done better with.
