Poor umpiring has become a common occurrence in the ongoing test match series between India and New Zealand. They strongly criticised for a lot of questionable actions during the first Test in Kanpur. They have come under criticism once again after controversially adjudicating Virat Kohli leg before wicket (lbw) in the second Test.
After the on-field umpire pronounced the Indian captain out, Virat Kohli opted for the DRS. The third umpire (Virender Sharma) examined the replays from different angles and determined that the ball had struck both the bat and the pad at the same time. Kohli made the long walk back to the pavilion because Sharma lacked solid proof to reverse the on-field umpire’s judgment.
Fans, on the other hand, have been uploading photos and videos on Twitter, revealing that the ball hit the bat first. They were enraged by Virender Sharma’s controversial umpiring judgment. Fans then mocked him mercilessly for making a series of gaffes while officiating games as an umpire.

Former Indian batter VVS Laxman was suspicious of the Indian team’s late injury updates. He questioned Virat Kohli on not revealing it during yesterday’s press conference.
According to the BCCI, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja have all been ruled out of the second Test. The trio has been ruled out due to injury concerns. Virat Kohli said the same thing during the toss.
“Did something happen this morning? But Virat Kohli said nothing about in the press conference yesterday. It is obviously a big blow. Jadeja was injured in that England series and Axar Patel came in and he named Player of the Series.” he said
In the opening session of day 1, Team India lost three wickets. All three wickets were taken by Ajaz Patel, who was the wreaker-in-chief. Patel added a fourth wicket to his tally with the post-tea dismissal of Shreyas Iyer. India is now ranked 160th in the world, having lost four wickets.
