Brad Hogg says “I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up there”

Brad Hogg believes David Warner would join Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) southern rivals, next season. In the 2021 IPL, the left-handed opener was left out of the franchise unit. He has stated that he is unlikely to be retained by the team.

Kane Williamson was assigned the franchise’s leadership duties after a terrible start to the season. He lost his place in the batting order after losing his captaincy, with the team choosing Jason Roy ahead of him. RCB will be on the watch for him during the auction, according to Hogg, as they are also looking for a prospective captain.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at RCB because that kind of wicket will suit him at Bangalore and they need a leader. The RCB might get him in because of his captaincy record as Kohli has relinquished his post,” he said

Hogg believes that the connection between the franchise management. And Warner must have worsened over the course of the last year. As a result, he no longer sees Warner as a member of the Orange Army. Warner won the Orange Cap three times while representing SRH and led them to their only IPL win in 2016.

“I don’t think Warner will play for SRH anymore. I think there is bit of a relationship problem between the franchise management and David Warner.” Hogg added

Warner bounced back after being pulled out of the team due to poor form. With a thunderous run of performances for Australia at the T20 World Cup. He was instrumental in the final while chasing a total under duress. Warner was named the tournament’s player of the year after scoring 289 runs in seven innings, averaging 48.16 runs per inning.
