Wasim Akram- “We don’t want the whole country getting after poor Hasan Ali now” in T20 World Cup 2021

Following a dismal outing in the 2021 T20 World Cup semi-final, former Pakistan great Wasim Akram has placed his arm around his countryman Hasan Ali. Wasim Akram, who received criticism during his playing days, begged the public not to put Hasan Ali in harm’s way.

Hasan Ali, who was inconsistent before the semi-final, was unable to make an impact in the high-octane match against Australia. After conceding 44 runs in four overs, the 27-year-old went wicketless. After that, he dropped a key catch off Matthew Wade in the 19th over. Wade then hammered three sixes in a row to put his team in the final.

Wasim Akram expressed sympathy for Hasan Ali and acknowledged that Pakistanis might be passionate. Ali should not have to go through what the previous players did, according to the 55-year-old.

“What we don’t want is that the whole country gets after poor Hasan Ali now. I have been through this, Waqar Younis has been through it. In other countries, it’s just a game for people. Next day, you say well tried, bad luck, better luck next time, and move on,” Akram told A Sports. he said

Babar Azam, Pakistan’s skipper, also referred to the missed opportunity, which may have been decisive. Australia’s successful chase of 177 ended the men in green’s 16-match winning streak in the UAE and handed them their first setback of the 2021 edition.

Wasim Akram went on to say that the players’ situation was difficult because they couldn’t see their families right away to express their pain.

“This situation is as tough for the players as it is for the fans. The players will go to their rooms, they’ll be quiet, they won’t talk to their families and the defeat will haunt them. As a nation, we don’t want to add fire to that fuel.” he said

On Sunday in Dubai, Trans-Tasman rivals will face battle in the final to crown a new T20 champion. In 2010, Australia made it to the final but lost to England. After overcoming Eoin Morgan and his colleagues on Wednesday, New Zealand advanced to the first round of the World Cup.
