Kane Williamson and the SRH were aided by a DRS call. Only two wickets were taken by one of the strongest bowling assaults in the IPL against Sunrisers Hyderabad, thanks to a blunder in judgment. During the Sunrisers’ chase, Kane Williamson should have been out for two in the first over, but the Gujarat Titans did not review. As Williamson seemed quite close, Mohammed Shami’s fourth ball of the opening over slipped off the surface and smacked on the pads. The leg-before challenge was denied by the on-field umpire, leaving Hardik Pandya and his teammates to wonder if there was an inside edge. After a lengthy discussion, Titans wicketkeeper Matthew Wade appeared keen to head upstairs. Shami, on the other hand, didn’t seem convinced, while Pandya seemed hesitant. DRS indicated three reds, no inside edge, and the ball striking the top of the middle, giving Williamson a reprieve. In his team’s eight-wicket victory, the Sunrisers captain went on to score a 46-ball 57. see also: IPL 2022: ...
