The BCCI has received 1,214 registrations for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
During the two-day mega auction, ten clubs will compete for some of the best cricketers on the globe. There are 270 capped players, 903 uncapped players, and also 41 associate players on the roster.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing for the Indian Premier League; (IPL) 2022 mega auction, which also will feature 1214 players.
The IPL Player Registration closed on January 20th, 2022, according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah in an official press release. “A total of 1,214 players (896 Indians and 318 internationals); already sign up to participate in the IPL 2022 Player Auction,” according to the press release.

David Warner, an Australian colorful hitter, and partner Mitchell Bog; are among 49 players whose base cost has set at a most extreme of Rs. 2 crore. At the later T20 World Container, Warner was named Player of the Competition; and Bog was named Player of the Coordinate within the final. R Ashwin, Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan, Suresh Raina, Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa; Steven Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Check Wood, Trent Boult, Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock; Kagiso Rabada, and Dwayne Bravo are among the unmistakable names on the list.
The BCCI has scheduled the auction for February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. It’s possible that this will be the BCCI’s final mega-sale; as most of the original IPL franchises are desperate for the tournament to end. This year’s IPL will feature ten teams; with Sanjiv Goenka’s Lucknow and CVC’s Ahmedabad making their first appearances in the lucrative tournament. The BCCI has yet to issue a Letter of Aim to CVC; but it is expected to do so in the coming weeks.

Both clubs have till Christmas to declare their three draft picks; but BCCI may extend both periods if CVC does not receive clearance.
Most franchise owners believe that mega auctions have outlived their usefulness; and that having auctions every three years jeopardizes a team’s makeup and balance.
