Imad Wasim, a Pakistan all-rounder, has a message for Pakistan fans after the team’s second Super 12 victory, a five-wicket victory over New Zealand.
Pakistan held New Zealand to a meager score of 134/8 after requesting them to bat first. Haris Rauf led the charge with a four-wicket haul. While Pakistan struggled in the run chase, Asif Ali and Shoaib Malik made sure their team crossed the finish line.
Pakistan, on the other hand, has already won both of their T20 World Cup games, putting them in a solid position to reach the semi-finals. As a result, Pakistan’s all-rounder Imad Wasim has a message for Pakistan fans following the team’s victory over New Zealand.
“This is a win for Pakistan and Pakistanis around the world. The match was incredible. We were superior to them. They are a good team, but we won the game by five wickets, which is incredible. We’ve made a strong showing in the tournament.”
Following New Zealand’s decision to skip Pakistan’s trip earlier this month, there was a lot of buzz about this match. Imad Wasim, on the other hand, expressed his sympathy for the New Zealanders, who have been chastised for their actions.
Kane Williamson
“I have a lot of respect for the likes of Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill, and Trent Boult. I’ve known them since the U-19 days. They have done a great job for this game and their career records and achievements are fantastic. Unfortunately, our fans missed out. I think that is not their fault. It was the decision of the government. What happened politically, we can’t do that. If our government says the same, we would have done the same. Next time, hopefully, I can assure New Zealand that there are a lot of their fans in Pakistan and across the world and we would love to play them (at home).” Pakistan all-rounder
Pakistan has made a strong start to the tournament, winning both of their first two games. They’ve also won all 13 T20I matches they’ve played in the UAE. Pakistan, the customary dark horse, will be aiming for a second T20 World Cup victory with one foot in the semi-final.
