IPL 2021 As such, In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Eliminator in Sharjah, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wrecked Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, their spin twins, were on fire, with the former taking four wickets, including Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell.
Former India pacer Ashish Nehra, however, believes that Delhi Capitals (DC) have the upper hand in Qualifier 2 since they have a strong pace attack.
On Wednesday, KKR and DC will compete in the second Qualifier in Sharjah to determine who would face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final.
Mohammed Siraj
According to Nehra, pacers are also difficult to play on the Sharjah ground, as Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel displayed in the Eliminator. DC has a little advantage because they have pacers like Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, and Avesh Khan in their lineup. Ashish Nehra
“KKR had the edge against RCB, but if you see Delhi’s team and even the way they played the last match, I would give Delhi the edge. KKR has good spinners, but this is the kind of pitch where even fast-bowlers can do well. Today, even Mohammed Siraj did well. DC have Nortje, Rabada and Avesh Khan. It’s not easy to play pacers on these pitches. Harshal Patel has done so well. It’s even harder to play the slower balls, so, despite KKR’s spin bowlers, I would give DC the edge 55-45.” Nehra said
While Rabada and Nortje have established themselves at the international level and in the IPL, Avesh Khan has enjoyed a breakout season so far, taking 23 wickets in 15 matches.
