Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja believes the Mumbai Indians’ playoff chances in IPL 2021 are substantially stacked against them. In Abu Dhabi, the Mumbai Indians and SunRisers Hyderabad will play in the last league game of the IPL 2021 season.
However, While the SunRisers Hyderabad are out of the playoff picture, the Mumbai Indians will need a miracle to beat the Kolkata Knight Riders and make it to the final four. Thus, To increase their net run rate above KKR’s, the reigning champions must defeat the SunRisers by at least 171 runs.
Ajay Jadeja believes the Mumbai Indians have no realistic chance of entering the playoffs, as he stated in a Cricbuzz video. As a Mumbai Indians supporter, Jadeja believes KKR deserves a postseason berth after losing out on previous playoff appearances owing to net run rate difficulties.
“Mumbai Indians scoring 200 and winning against SunRisers Hyderabad is a possibility. But winning by 170 runs is impossible and it’s coming from a Mumbai Indians fan. Mumbai Indians will stand nowhere when chasing a total. Sometimes you have to accept you were outplayed and eight teams fight tooth and nail to win.” Jadeja stated

“I think it’s a big blow for Mumbai Indians, given they were so high on confidence. So, the support staff and fans will be disappointed. But KKR has always been unfortunate due to the net run rate.” he added
Nonetheless, Jadeja believes Mumbai should go out there and give it their all, as 260-270 should not be out of reach. Having said that, Jadeja believes that India’s bowlers should be rested for the World T20 because the country comes first.
