After seeing Pat Cummins’ batting ability in the IPL, Aaron Finch made a cheeky dig at him.
Pat Cummins demonstrated his batting talent when playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders; in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Mumbai Indians, smashing 56 runs off just 15 balls. Cummins equaled KL Rahul’s record for the fastest fifty in the history of the cash-rich tournament with this knock. Aaron Finch, Cummins’ KKR and Australia teammate, has taken a dig at the bowler; revealing why he refers to him as “IPL Pat.”
Finch was also caught away when he saw Cummins’ 56-run innings against the Mumbai Indians.
“I was completely taken aback by it! He’s known as IPL Pat because he bats better in the IPL than he does for Australia. He’s had some terrific innings for KKR and he works hard on his batting; so it was fantastic to see him keep that aggressive approach batting at number seven; coming out and swinging hard from ball one and changing the game’s momentum; “Finch was reported on the KKR’s official website as saying.

Finch was brought in by KKR as a replacement for Alex Hales; who had withdrawn from the competition due to bubble fatigue. Finch went unsold in the mega auction, but he was subsequently brought in as a Hales replacement. The Australia white-ball captain expressed disappointment after being unsold at the auction.
In response to being selected by KKR, Finch stated: “Sure, why not? Yeah. But when Baz [Head Coach Brendon McCullum] called to invite me to join KKR; I was also ecstatic and leaped at the chance.”
