Deepak Chahar has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in February of this year. The right-arm pacer set to make his comeback in this year’s IPL but force to withdraw due to a back injury.

“If I had wanted to, I could have made a comeback only 2-3 weeks ago.” I could have played in the West Indies T20 series. But then I remembered that whenever you play, you give it your all. The Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer last played for the Men in Blue in the T20I series against the West Indies in India in February, where he look in good form before being sidelined by injuries. He recalled his time on the bench, saying that he always worked on his fundamentals and tried to improve his game by removing flaws.
“In the past, I’ve had a lot of injuries.” But I’ve always believe that getting injure gives you time to get back to basics. It allows you to work on any weaknesses you may have. “Whenever I’ve been injured, I’ve always worked on my game,” Chahar added.
Chahar’s name has been floated as a possible selection for the Asia Cup later this month, but the rise of Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar has pushed Chahar down the white ball pecking order.
