Mark Boucher will remain South Africa’s head coach after the CSA drops racism charges. Due to a lack of evidence, the CSA dropped the charges against Boucher.
Following the dismissal of the allegations against him. Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced that Mark Boucher will remain as Proteas coach until the end of his contract after the 2023 ICC World Cup. The charges were dropped after Paul Adams refused to testify in court against Boucher.
After the board’s decision, Lawson Naidoo, the chairperson of the CSA, urged all citizens to support the national cricket team. Boucher charge with three counts stemming from his handling of race-related issues in the past, as a national player, and now as the team’s coach.
“We look forward to working with Mark in the future, and we hope that all South Africans can come together as one to support our team, which we know has the ability to reach the very pinnacle of achievement across all formats,” Naidoo said, according to Times Live.
The CSA drop racism charges its claims of discrimination, including racism, citing a lack of evidence to back them up. According to CSA, the allegations stemmed from the SJN (Social Justice and Nation Building hearings) report, as well as the investigation following the departure of Boucher’s former assistant coach Enoch Nkwe from the team.
The key decision-making component was a statement from Adams and Nkwe. However, due to the absence of the duo, the verdict was render in favor of Boucher.
