French Cup: Nice defeats Versailles to reach for the first time in finals since 1997.
Pleasant beat fourth-tier Versailles 2-0 on Tuesday; to reach the French Cup last for the primary time in 25 a long time; with Amine Gouiri scoring one objective and setting up Kasper Dolberg for the other. Nice, who won the final of its three French Cups in 1997; will confront the champ of Wednesday’s elimination round between Nantes and Monaco at Stade de France on May 8. Nice’s second half progressed more smoothly until Gouiri scored in the 48th minute; chesting down a right-wing cross and sending the ball into the upper left corner. Gouiri displayed amazing skill to beat three players before setting up Dolberg for a nice finish in the 73rd minute.
