As such, The two new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises are expected to cost between INR 7,000 crore and INR 10,000 crore, according to the BCCI. According to the news agency PTI, the information is being communicated. On Monday, the auction for the two new IPL teams will begin in Dubai.
A total of 22 organizations have received bidding papers totaling INR 10 lakh, but the new teams’ basic price has been set at Rs 2,000 crore, with only five to six serious bids expected.
Bids can be submitted by consortiums of up to three firms or individuals, according to the BCCI.

Gautam Adani and his Adani Group are the front-runners to win one of the franchises. The RPSG group, led by billionaire Sanjeev Goenka, is another interested party. In the IPL, Goenka previously owned the Rising Pune Super Giants for two years.
“Gautam Adani and Sanjiv Goenka are the biggest names in the Indian industry. They will be serious bidders. Expect a minimum bid of Rs 3,500 crore from the potential bidders. Don’t forget that IPL broadcast rights are projected around $5 billion (Rs 36,000 Crore). So the economics will work accordingly as franchises get the TV revenue share equally.” BCCI official as saying
“Yes, a former India opener is ready to shell out around Rs 300 crore and buy a minority stake if the consortium he is part of is able to successfully bid for a new team. He comes from a business family and he does want to invest in a cricket team. He is a distinguished player in his own right and also understands how the franchisee universe works,” the source was quoted as saying.
Therefore, The Glazer family, who own Manchester United, has also been said to be interested in buying an IPL club.
However, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, the Bollywood star couple, are also said to be interested in obtaining a stake in a team and will form a partnership.
