Here’s how we think CSK will fare vs MI: Ruturaj Gaikwad: Ruturaj Gaikwad was the Orange Cap holder last season; but he has struggled this season until the match against GT. The opener scored 73 runs to keep his team from losing. He’ll be hoping to maintain his form and assist his team in putting together a winning streak. Robin Uthappa: Despite his superb knock against RCB, Robin Uthappa struggled against GT. He was out for three runs in ten balls. With Gaikwad, the veteran is anticipated to form a solid starting partnership. MI will play CSK in a battle to avoid elimination from the IPL. Mumbai Indians, who are on the edge of elimination following six straight losses will need to win their first; match of the IPL to stay afloat when they meet Chennai Super Kings on Thursday. Mumbai, the five-time winners, have yet to win a game this season; and a loss on Thursday will see them eliminated from the tournament.  CSK, the defending champions who sit only a rung above bottom-placed MI, have similarly struggled as a unit; despite some individual brilliance. With five losses in six games, a loss on Thursday would put them in danger of being eliminated. The form of Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma, who has only 114 runs in six innings, is the biggest concern. He’ll have to do the bulk of the scoring if Mumbai has to chase or post a huge total. Ishan Kishan, a young batter,  has also failed to justify his hefty purchase tag of Rs 15.25 crore. He’ll have to perform better than the 191 ...

Sports have a long history in India, which was strongly influenced by the British presence in the country during the 18th and 19th centuries. Cricket is certainly the most popular sport in the country. Although many other sports are also popular in such a huge and populated country.

Modern games, however, have swept the Indian scene, with cricket being the most popular. The Asian Games (1951 and 1982), the Cricket World Cup (1987, 1996, and 2011), the Hockey World Cup, and the Commonwealth Games have all been held in India (2010).

India has also competed in the Olympic Games since 1900, gaining one Olympic medal in athletics. When Norma Pritchard won two silver medals in the 200-meter dash and the 200-meter hurdles. They had a break from the Games for a few years before returning. In 1920 and sending athletes ever since.
