Malik once again showcased his speed during the SRH net practice; where he astonished Nicholas Pooran with his raw velocity and bounce ahead of the 15th season of the IPL. Malik plagued the West Indian with his rapid deliveries, leaving him bewildered at times. He was capable of hitting 150kph and maintaining such a tempo throughout spells. Kolkata Knight Riders: A well-balanced blend of worldwide and residential stars Behind the departure of skipper Gautam Gambhir, they have struggled as the most successful team after Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. They didn’t lack the elements to succeed after that, but they couldn’t seem to develop the proper formula. Perhaps all they need is a bold captain like Gambhir to resurrect their glory days and form a title-winning team. The past KKR have consistently been there or thereabouts following their prime years, finishing third twice and second once in the last five years. In both of those cases, they finished fifth and lost out on a knockout berth by a whisker. Their performances were frequently erratic, with them appearing invulnerable one game and vulnerable the next. Last year’s edition was a textbook example: they were seventh at the mid-season break before bouncing back to finish second in the final season. Despite the revamp, they’d like to capitalize on that momentum this season.  One of their stumbling blocks has been the absence of their top overseas players in crucial games. Alternatively, they have a tendency to underperform in crucial situations or to pick ailments. However, they always seem to be able to get the best out of domestic recruits. see ...

The Gujarat Titans have discharged their song of devotion “Aava de.” The Titans announced their anthem ‘Aava De’ on Friday, a day before the commencement of the Indian Premier League. The song, composed by Dub Sharma and sung by Gujarati folk singer Aditya Gadhvi; combines Gujarati culture with the team’s desire to make a mark in the world’s most prestigious T20 event. The hymn begins with Shri Kavi Narmad’s renowned lines; “Jai Jai Garvi Gujarat.” The words ‘Aava De’ signify a challenge to ‘Bring it on.’ “Aditya Gadhvi and I sought to bring in the flavor of Gujarat,” composer Dub Sharma stated of the partnership. We also wanted to emphasize the Gujarat Titans’ slogan, ‘Aava De;’ which means ‘Bring it on.’ I’m convinced that there will be portions of the song that stick with folks.” “I knew I wanted to portray the intensity, character, and personality of Gujarat through this song; when I had to sing it for the Gujarat Titans.” I chose a song that is associated with the state. I’m overjoyed that it was well received by the Gujarat Titans. “I am confident that when this is played in the stadium; everyone will sing ‘Hove Hove’ together, energizing the Gujarat Titans,” Aditya Gadhvi added. see ...

Sports have a long history in India, which was strongly influenced by the British presence in the country during the 18th and 19th centuries. Cricket is certainly the most popular sport in the country. Although many other sports are also popular in such a huge and populated country.

Modern games, however, have swept the Indian scene, with cricket being the most popular. The Asian Games (1951 and 1982), the Cricket World Cup (1987, 1996, and 2011), the Hockey World Cup, and the Commonwealth Games have all been held in India (2010).

India has also competed in the Olympic Games since 1900, gaining one Olympic medal in athletics. When Norma Pritchard won two silver medals in the 200-meter dash and the 200-meter hurdles. They had a break from the Games for a few years before returning. In 1920 and sending athletes ever since.
