Sonny Ramadhin has died, also known as the “amazing West Indian spinner”. Sonny Ramadhin, a member of the West Indies team that won their first away series in England in 1950; has died at the age of 92, according to the country’s cricket organization. Ramadhin played 43 Tests and took 158 wickets at an average; of 28.98 after making his Test debut against England at Old Trafford in 1950. “On behalf of CWI, I want to convey our heartfelt condolences to Sonny Ramadhin’s family and friends; one of West Indies cricket’s great pioneers,” Cricket West Indies President Ricky Skerritt said on Sunday. “From the time Mr Ramadhin went onto the World Cricket field, he made an impression. Many anecdotes are made about his incredible achievements during the 1950 trip; when he teamed up with Alf Valentine to form cricket’s’spin twins; as the West Indies defeated England for the first time away from home.” ...
