Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2021 victory over India, according to Aakash Chopra. It is clear proof that matches are won on the day, not on the basis of previous outcomes.
Team India has an unblemished 12-0 record against their neighbors in World Cup competitions. Then heading into yesterday night’s showdown against the Babar Azam-led team. Pakistan, on the other hand, hammered Virat Kohli’s side by 10 wickets to halt India’s winning streak.
“Well done, you [Pakistan] were not playing the history but a game. Whoever plays the game, wins it. We got this lesson on two consecutive nights that you don’t get known by your name but your deeds.” He said
The cricketer-turned-commentator went on to say that England’s and Pakistan’s victories over the West Indies and India, respectively, demonstrated that previous results don’t define a match.
West Indies
“West Indies had come after winning five consecutive matches against England and England defeated them, dismissed them for 55. India here came after winning five consecutive matches against Pakistan and Pakistan has handed India a ten-wicket defeat.” Chopra elaborated
Aakash Chopra stated that Team India has never been thrashed like this by any opponent.
“I mean the monkey is off the back completely now and in style. We have been handed a defeat in the first match itself and it is not a loss but an annihilation. A decimation because no team had handed us a 10-wicket defeat in T20Is but the neighbors have done that.” He observed
After being put in to bat, Pakistan restricted India to a score of 151/7 in their allotted 20 overs. After that, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan put up an unbroken 152-run partnership to help their team to a comfortable victory.
