When Delhi Capital continues its effort to overtake table-toppers Chennai Super Kings on Monday, star players Dwayne Bravo and Shikhar Dhawan will be looking for T20 milestones.
Dwayne Bravo of the Chennai Super Kings will become the first player in T20 cricket history to take 550 wickets. Bravo is two wickets away from becoming the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL history, and he just needs three more to pass Amit Mishra and become the second-highest wicket-taker ever.
Amit Mishra of the Delhi Capitals will become only the second player in IPL history to play 100 games for his side. Mishra is only 5 wickets away from becoming the highest wicket-taker in the lucrative Twenty20 league’s history. DC spinner has 166 wickets to his name, second only to renowned Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga, who has 170 IPL wickets to his name.
Shikhar Dhawan is in fine form and is just 59 runs away from becoming the fourth player in the Delhi franchise’s history to reach 2000 IPL runs. The DC opener is also 38 runs away from becoming the second player in IPL history to reach 800 runs against Chennai Super Kings, following Virat Kohli.
CSK and DC both won their first two games in the UAE leg and were the first two clubs to qualify for the playoffs. Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni both want their clubs to finish in the top two positions because it will give DC and CSK two chances to reach the IPL finals in 2021.
Rishabh Pant
DC, led by Rishabh Pant, appear to be hungry to win after placing second last year. Delhi, like CSK, has 18 points from nine victories and three losses in 12 games.
