On the eve of the championship game, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and took home their third IPL crown in league history. The league leaders, who had been the most dominant team, went on to overcome Hyderabad in the first qualifier and then went on to win the championship match on May 26 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Throughout the season, they were merciless with the bat and the ball. Captain Shreyas Iyer was incredibly happy of his team’s success and said they played like unbeatables. The 29-year-old added that KKR played faultlessly the entire season and clarified that the players met and beyond expectations.
“All season long, we played like we were unbeatable. Right now, there’s so much to be grateful for. The entire performance has been faultless, which is pleasing. I am at a loss for words at the moment. We have improved today have been amazing from the first game. “We only asked that we support one another no matter what,” Iyer stated during the post-game ceremony.

The cricket player from Mumbai said that the game might have gone either way because Hyderabad has played some excellent cricket this season. They were delighted to bowl first, which was crucial to their triumph, so he said, adding that the toss had some bearing.
“There were two possible outcomes for the game. All season long, they have been playing fantastic cricket as SRH. We were fortunate enough to bowl first, and everything worked out well for us. We appreciate SRH’s style of play. Anticipating playing more competitive cricket,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, on May 27, KKR captain Shreyas Iyer posted a photo of himself beside the swimming pool with the trophy in his hands. The batter stated that he always keeps it with him in the caption.
