PCB officials meet players following the completion of Kakul training camp. While all of the other players were present, wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan was absent.
The PCB meet players from the national team to Kakul to train with the Pakistan Army. After the training, the national selection committee called a meeting of the cricketers. The cricketers and the committee held a meeting at a local hotel in Islamabad.
A total of 29 players trained with the Army, and videos of the drills are circulating on social media platforms. While the rest of the team went, wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan stayed home. The 31-year-old is currently performing Umrah with his family in Saudi Arabia.
The meeting’s agenda included instilling confidence in players regarding the committee’s decision on selection policies. However, the rotational policy and providing ample opportunities for young players were also on the agenda. The members of the national selection committee who attended the meeting were Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, Bilal Afzal, Hasan Cheema, Mohammad Yousuf, and Wahab Riaz. Usman Wahla, the Director of International Cricket Operations, also attended the meeting.

Pakistan squad for New Zealand series to be announced on Tuesday
New Zealand will travel to Pakistan for a five-match Twenty20 International series. The series will begin on April 18 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. However, the Kiwis will land in Pakistan on April 14. As the crucial series approaches, the Selection Committee plans to announce the squad for the T20I fixtures on Tuesday, April 9 in Lahore.
Before the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan will play a T20I series in Ireland and England. The tour will allow the Men in Green to make necessary preparations before departing for the West Indies and the United States. For the uninitiated, the PCB has reinstated Babar Azam as Pakistan’s white-ball captain, displacing Shaheen Afridi, who served as captain when the team visited New Zealand.
