Rohit Sharma, a Mumbai Indians (MI) veteran, added a new feather to his cap by becoming the fourth player in IPL history to reach 100 catches. The 36-year-old accomplished the feat during MI’s IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 7. He reached the milestone in his 247th match, taking Jhye Richardson’s catch off Gerald Coetzee.
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Virat Kohli leads the IPL in catches with 110 in 242 matches. Former Chennai Super Kings star Suresh Raina, also known as Mr. IPL, is in second place with 109 catches in 205 matches, followed by Kieron Pollard with 103 catches in 189 games.

Jasprit Bumrah completes 150 wickets for MI in IPL
Jasprit Bumrah, the Mumbai Indians’ main pacer, set a new IPL record with taking 150 wickets. He was the first Indian cricketer to accomplish this milestone for a single IPL team. The Ahmedabad-born fast bowler, who has played for MI since 2013, accomplished the feat in 124 games.
In a high-scoring match between MI and DC at the Wankhede Stadium, the 30-year-old demonstrated his bowling prowess, finishing with excellent figures of 2/22 in four overs and an economy rate of only 5.50. He sent back Prithvi Shaw, followed by Abhishek Porel, to reach 150 wickets.
MI scored a mammoth 234 runs in the match, thanks to brilliant knocks from Rohit Sharma (49), Ishan Kishan (42), Tim David (35*), and Romario Shepherd (39*). In response, Delhi, led by Rishabh Pant, struggled from the start of the innings. DC’s No. 4 batter Tristan Stubbs put up a fight, scoring an unbeaten 71 off just 25 deliveries, but they were restricted to 205.
