India On the third day of the fourth Test against England in Ranchi, wicketkeeper batter Dhruv Jurel emerge as India’s shining knight. In just his second Test, Jurel also scored his first half-century, rescuing India’s innings from 177/7. When Jurel reach his first half-century in the first session, he drew the attention of the cricketing world with his unusual salute celebration.
Notably, the 23-year-old performed the unique gesture for his father, a Kargil War veteran. Dhruv’s father, Nem Chand, is a retired havildar who fought in the 1999 Kargil war before voluntarily retiring in 2008.
“The jubilation after hitting fifty dedicate to my father. He is a Kargil War veteran. Yesterday evening, I was on the phone with my father. He told me indirectly, ‘beta, show your salute once at least’; I’ve been doing that since I was a youngster, so that celebration was for him. ” Jurel explain after his innings.
Jurel just missed out on a century as he was remove for 90 (149) with six fours and four sixes. The Agra-born cricketer contributed to a key 76-run stand with Kuldeep Yadav (28 off 13. A 40-run stand with Akash Deep (9 off 29), helping India stay in the game. With a brave effort from the bottom order, India concluded their innings on 307, giving England a 46-run advantage in the second innings.

India bundle out England for 145 in second innings
In response, India got off to a flying start in the fourth innings. Chasing a difficult goal of 192, with openers Rohit Sharma (24 off 27) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (16 off 21) leading their team to stumps unbeaten on 40/0. On Day 4, the Rohit Sharma-led side needs another 152 runs to win the fourth Test and grab an unassailable 3-1 series lead.
