I liked Dhas a lot based on whatever I saw: Aakash Chopra. “The pulls he made against South Africa were to the left of midwicket. “You need a special ability to do that,” Chopra explained.
In the just finished U19 World Cup, Aakash Chopra praised Sachin Dhas for his outstanding efforts for India. Chopra praised Dhas for his flawless technique, particularly when performing the pull shot. Dhas demonstrated his batsmanship by scoring 303 runs at an excellent average of 60.60 and a strike rate of 116.53 in seven innings during the competition.
His noteworthy efforts included a scorching 116 off 101 deliveries against Nepal and an important 96 off 95 balls in India’s semi-final win against South Africa. However, he struggled in the final against Australia, scoring only nine runs off eight deliveries as India lost by 79 runs in Benoni on February 11.
“I liked Sachin Dhas a lot based on what I observed. I agree that he got out to a spinner in the finals. He excels in both pulling and driving. He’s got that flair. The pulls he made against South Africa were to the left of midwicket. “You need a special ability to do that,” Chopra explained on his YouTube channel.
“His arms open up; they do not cramp. If someone’s arms become cramped, he plays square and in the air. If your arms open up and you can make the impact away from your body, you have time to hold the ball down and hit for midwicket. “I’ve marked him as a good player,” he said.

Uday Saharan game sense is very good: Aakash Chopra
Chopra hailed Uday Saharan’s outstanding performance and game sense at the U19 World Cup. Saharan scored 397 runs, including a century and three half-centuries, with an average of 56.71 and a strike rate of 77.69 during seven innings. Notably, in the semi-final against South Africa, Saharan and Sachin Dhas forged an incredible 171-run partnership for the fifth wicket, lifting India from a dangerous 32/4 while chasing a 245-run goal.
“The second player I admired was Uday Saharan. He is an excellent player. His game sense is excellent. He plays conservatively and understands how to construct an innings. He understands how to play cricket. His and Sachin’s semi-final knocks were both excellent,” Chopra said.
