Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the outstanding performers for India in the series
In the second Test, the ace pacer bagged six wickets in the first innings and three in the second innings.
Por su impresionante actuación, fue elegido apropiadamente como Jugador del Partido. His Yorker to dismiss Ollie Pope in the first innings received praise from fans and experts. Dale Steyn, quien se considera uno de los mejores pateadores de todos los tiempos, elogió a Bumrah por anotar tantos tantos en campos dóciles como por tirar yorkers.
“All round he’s a fantastic bowler. And it’s no surprise with his skiddy kind of action that he’s got that. He takes wickets on those docile pitches, so he’s fantastic. I don’t think there’s any Test bowlers right now who are able to run in and bowl essentially wicket-taking yorkers. To take wickets in Test matches, there are probably a handful of guys who could do that. Trent Boult was one of that, Mitchell Starc maybe. And obviously, Bumrah. ” Said Steyn while speaking to the media ahead of the SA20 2024 final between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban Super Giants.
Bumrah’s match-winning performance in Visakhapatnam propelled him to the top of the ICC Test bowling rankings.
Steyn pointed out that one of the 30-year-old’srecentstrengths has been his ability to remove the pitch from the equation.
“I remember saying a long time ago that a good yorker bowled in India. South Africa, or Australia is still a good yorker because you remove the surface, regardless of where you bowled it. ” You also take the pitch away, and I believe that’s one thing he’s done exceptionally well. ” Steyn said.
