The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) made a significant decision, delaying the national contracts of three of its national team players. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazal Haq Farooqi, and Naveen Ul Haq Mureed are the three players whose contracts have been postpone and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) withheld for the next two years.

The board made the major decision after three players indicate their desire to be remove from their central contracts in order to focus on franchise cricket. The ACB claimed that players who chose franchise leagues over their national team were abdicating their national duties. Furthermore, the ACB launched a thorough investigation to remedy the situation.
