Legendary cricketer Jacques Kallis feels that for India to win their maiden Test series on South African soil, ace batsman Virat Kohli must perform admirably. Notably, the former India captain has suffered in red-ball cricket in recent times. He made a fantastic century in his previous Test match against West Indies, so the 35-year-old will be full of confidence. Especially after a stellar batting season at the recently finished ODI World Cup.
Kohli’s ability to pass on his experience and thoughts about controlling the circumstances. According to Kallis, would tremendously aid the squad in the two-match series. The 48-year-old noted that Kohli had huge success in South Africa and would thus be crucial for India once again, and he expects him to have a massive series.
“He’s a huge player no matter where he is.” I’ve played here a lot and had a decent amount of success. He’ll be able to pass that expertise on to the other guys, particularly the younger ones, and offer them suggestions on how to deal with these situations and what to expect.
“I’m sure he’ll want a big series here in South Africa.” He’s been in great shape. I believe he will play a significant role in assisting India. If they want to win here, he will need to have a terrific series,” Kallis told Star Sports.

Kohli’s T20I career in threat ahead of T20I World Cup
Despite doing well in the T20 World Cup 2022 and the IPL 2023, Virat Kohli is presently out of the picture in terms of T20I cricket. According to rumors, the Indian board is eager to provide more opportunities to the new brigade, which might cost Virat.
This trend, however, is still in its early stages and might alter if the Delhi-born player has a fantastic season in the 2019 IPL.
