Gautam Gambhir and the ‘King of Hearts’ Nitish Rana and Shah Rukh Khan are looking forward to their ‘homecoming’. “True kings in their own fields! Could this be a sign of a homecoming?” Nitish Rana tweeted.
Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir’s association with the Kolkata Knight Riders is a fairytale. Gambhir has two IPL titles to his name and has an excellent rapport with the franchise and its owners.
However, the former batter is no longer a member of the Knight Riders, since he has retired from playing and is currently a member of the coaching staff of the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023. Gambhir recently resorted to social media to share a photo of himself with iconic actor and KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan.
“He is the king of hearts, not just the king of Bollywood.” Every time we meet, I return with unending love and respect. There is so much to learn from you. “SRK is simply the best,” Gambhir captioned the photo.
Seeing the post, Kolkata Knight Riders batter Nitish Rana responded, anticipating Gambhir’s homecoming in Kolkata.

Rana captained the side in the IPL 2023 in the absence of usual skipper Shreyas Iyer
“True kings in their own fields! Could this be a sign of a homecoming? Just wondering,” Rana posted.
Fans have stated their wish for Gambhir to be the KKR coach in recent months. The team had a disappointing IPL 2023 season, prompting many fans to protest and demand changes.
The two-time winners were unable to capitalize on numerous phases of the competition, finishing eighth in the rankings and failing to qualify for the knockout stages. Players such as Rinku Singh, skipper Rana, and spinner Varun Chakravarthy demonstrated class. But their efforts were insufficient to qualify the franchise for the playoffs. Notably, Kolkata only won six of the 14 games they played in the IPL 2023.
