In terms of the encounter, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first. India made a strong start but lost opener Shubman Gill in the 12th over. Meanwhile, India’s captain scored 53 runs off 48 balls, including seven fours and two sixes.
Sri Lanka’s outstanding bowler, Dunith Wellalage, took five key wickets from the star-studded Indian squad. In his ten-over session, the 20-year-old completed with superb figures of 5/40. Meanwhile, Charith Asalanka demonstrated his outstanding bowling abilities, finishing with statistics of 4/18. Meanwhile, Maheesh Theekshana took the tenth wicket as India were held to 213 runs in 49.1 overs.
