Essex fell 14 runs short of winning the T20 Blast after playing some superb ball throughout. Essex skipper Simon Harmer expressed disappointment with the team’s performance but expressed optimism for the future. The 34-year-old also stated that if everyone in the team maintains the same mindset. Essex will soon be able to raise a few titles.

Essex has recently been one of the most successful counties. Winning the County Championship in 2019 and the Bob Willis Trophy in 2020.
They finished fourth in the Championship last year and are vying for the crown this season, so Harmer is optimistic about the team’s chances of success soon, as he wants to put pressure on league leaders Surrey.
“We’re trying to play an exciting brand of cricket and take it on from the first ball. ” We’ve made some great strides and recognize that we’ll make mistakes from time to time, but we’ve learned a lot this year. One thing you can say about this Essex team is that they never give up and fight until the latter end, and I believe that’s something you can’t buy; the rest you can improve on. “If we keep that attitude, there will be trophies,” Harmer told BBC Essex.
Notably, Somerset struggled to get going in the final, but Sean Dickson’s 53 runs off 35 deliveries changed the game’s complexion. The Lewis Gregory-led side scored 145 runs, which was enough for Somerset because to his superb batting.
When it came to the chase, Essex were met with the fury of Matt Henry, who picked up four wickets in the middle. Later on, Daniel Sams attempted to save the squad, but it was in vain, as the team was bundled for 131 runs.
