Harmanpreet Kaur praises India after a successful start against Bangladesh. “It was a fantastic team effort.” ‘The bowlers bowled really well, especially the young girls,’ Harmanpreet remarked after India defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the first T20I in Dhaka.
India began their white-ball series against Bangladesh in the best possible fashion, with the bowlers limiting Bangladesh to a low score in the opening T20I before winning by seven wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

After losing the toss, Bangladesh batted first and got off to a poor start
Shathi Rani dismissed for 22 and Shamima Sultana bowled for 17 runs by Pooja Vastrakar. Shorna Akter led Bangladesh with 28 runs. Bangladesh, on the other hand, only managed to earn 114 points courtesy to the excellence of the Indian bowling attack.
In response, the Indian middle-order performed admirably, with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scoring a magnificent half-century (54 off 35). Following the thrilling triumph, Kaur stepped up to pour accolades on the Indian bowling attack, as well as Smriti Mandhana, who scored a brilliant 38 in the run chase.
“It was a fantastic team effort.” The bowlers, particularly the young females, bowled exceptionally well. I was curious to watch how they would bowl in the first six overs; I believe both of them recognized the conditions quite quickly. Aside from them, Deepti bowled brilliantly as well. “She has an experienced bowler, and she demonstrated that today,” Harmanpreet remarked after the game.
“[On Mandhana] She is always willing to give her all for the team, and she demonstrated that tonight as well. You don’t have to be concerned when you have batters like Smriti and Shafali. We wanted to finish four-five overs early, and I’m glad we were able to do so,” she added.
After a flawless start to the T20I series, the Indian team will be looking to replicate that success in the upcoming games. Both teams will meet in the second game of the three-match series on July 11 at Dhaka’s Shere Bangla Stadium.
