Basit Ali expresses his displeasure with Sourav Ganguly’s ‘one-sided’ statement about IND-PAK games. The ODI World Cup game between India and Pakistan will take place on October 15th.
The entire globe is anticipating the India vs. Pakistan globe Cup game on October 15, 2023, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The enthusiasm has reached a fever pitch, with hotel rooms in Ahmedabad nearly sold out and airfare prices skyrocketing. No other game has drawn as large a viewership as the India-Pakistan match.
It is quite possible that the world’s largest stadium will be entirely pack when the two arch-rivals clash
A record number of people will be there. Given the nature of their games, pressure has always been high whenever the two sides meet. Former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly recently stated that the thrill factor is no longer present because India has been dominating ‘one-sided’ affairs of late.
Some Pakistan cricket supporters reacted negatively to Ganguly’s statement. Citing a T20 World Cup 2021 game in which Pakistan beat India by a staggering 10-wicket margin. India won their most recent T20 World Cup 2022 game in a thriller on the final delivery of the game.
Basit Ali, a former Pakistani cricketer, was’shocked’ by Ganguly’s claims. Although Basit expressed his admiration for Ganguly and his services to Indian cricket as a player and as a leader of the Indian board, he also shared some troubling facts that should serve as a wake-up call for the former India captain.
“I am stunned when I read Sourav Ganguly’s statement. Ganguly, the former BCCI president, play first-class cricket and a fantastic captain who nurture many players. “I disagree with him when he says that India-Pakistan matches are lopsided in favor of India,” Ali stated on his YouTube channel.

India-Australia costs are nowhere close to India-Pakistan’s: Ali
India has dominated Pakistan for nearly a decade, but the team has changed under Babar Azam’s guidance. In 2022, India defeated Pakistan twice, but the Men in Green won the Asia Cup as well. Basit also criticized Ganguly’s statements about the India-Australia game, claiming that India’s first match is a far better game to watch.
“He also said that India vs Australia is a bigger crowd puller than India vs Pakistan. To that, I would just want to say that ‘Brother, when India plays Australia, are roads in your country empty? No. They are empty whenever there’s an India-Pakistan match – both in India and in Pakistan. Everyone is glued to their TV screen and are praying. Look at the ticket prices for the World Cup; India-Australia costs are nowhere close to India-Pakistan’s. So I feel that Ganguly – DADA ji – is just trying to play mind games,” Basit concluded.
