On May 20, the champions of the Mumbai leg of the third MI Junior Inter-School Cricket Tournament received coaching from former India cricketer Jhulan Goswami and former Mumbai Indians coach John Wright. The winners of MI Juniors get the opportunity to participate in a private coaching session with MI coaching staff members each year.
Teams from the three winning schools, Anjuman Islam, CST (boys U16 Team), Shardashram Vidyamandir (girls U15 Team), and Swami Vivekanand, Borivali (boys U14 Team), had the opportunity to receive coaching from two well-known figures in the cricketing community.

“It was really enjoyable. They are incredibly smart and understand what to do. They responded voluntarily when I posed certain questions. Really, I am impress. I wasn’t that quick to speak when I was younger. They have a deep understanding of their respective sports, which is a testament to their coaches back home. Goswami praised Mumbai Indians for their commendable efforts to support young boys and girls.
Wright discuss the session in detail and noted that the students were engage and that fielding receive particular attention because it is fielding that binds a team together.
“I really enjoyed it. The youngsters were highly animate. There were many levels of expertise. Some of them were of an exceptionally high caliber. We made an effort to make it fun for them. Moreover, They were really engage, and we placed a strong emphasis on fielding. Fielding is what binds a team together, according to Wright.

Played on famous fields in Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur was MI Junior
The young athletes underwent a series of different training and fielding activities as well as an opportunity to speak with the respected coaches. The two boy teams were also introduce after the girls team.
In addition, the third edition of MI Junior had over 400 teams and over 3500 boys and girls competing in the three age divisions of boys U14, females U15, and boys U16. The competition was held on renown fields in Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur.
The founder of MI Junior, Mrs. Nita Ambani, is also the owner of the Mumbai Indians. She has supported ESA (Education and Sports for All), a program of the Reliance Foundation, which aims to integrate sports into the school system.
