Suresh Raina praise Krunal Pandya following his all-round performance against SRH. Krunal Pandya was named Player of the Match after picking three out of eight balls and accumulating 34 points in 23 attempts.
Lucknow Super Giants won their third match of the IPL 2023 on Friday, April 7, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets. Sunrisers could only manage 121/8 in the first innings after deciding to bat first, as they struggled to adjust to the sluggish surface at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
In response, Lucknow chased down the mark in 16 overs, handing Hyderabad its second consecutive defeat in IPL 2023. Former India cricketer Anil Kumble commented on SRH’s performance thus far, saying that he had retained them in his top four at the start of the competition, and they have a very excellent batting line up that has failed to ignite.
“It’s hardly the best of starts. Even though they were in my Top-4, I feel they have a decent team with a strong hitting lineup. They have not fired anyone. In both games, their batting has failed them down. Even at home against the Rajasthan Royals, they failed to score enough runs. “Even bowling on this surface,” Kumble stated on JioCinema.
Kumble went on to say that the team blew it by not getting Adil Rashid into the attack early on. Because they had a low total to defend, the great leg spinner believed they should have brought their top spinner into the attack as soon as possible.
“Even against Rajasthan, they missed a trick by not coming in Adil Rashid to face Jos Buttler.” We all know that Buttler dislikes leg-spinners coming in and bowling early in an innings. Adil Rashid held until the first six overs even here. You only have 121 runs available; utilize your primary spinner. He ought to be bowling. Even Washington Sundar only bowled one over on the powerplay. So there are some things they must work on, but most importantly, they must improve their batting,” Kumble observed.
Krunal shined with both bat and ball for LSG and name Player of the Match.
He took three wickets in four overs, including Mayank Agarwal, Aiden Markram (golden duck), and a well-set Anmolpreet Singh.
With the bat, he scored 34 off 23 balls, hitting four fours and a six, and he and KL Rahul shared 55 runs for the third wicket off 38 balls.
Suresh Raina, former India and CSK player, spoke about his all-round performance, saying he batted with strong purpose and always stepped up when the team needed him.

It was a good all-round performance today by Krunal Pandya: Suresh Raina
“He (Krunal) batted with purpose. Scored boundaries and then singles; it was a good all-around effort today. The boundary was made by stepping out, which is a tough shot in these circumstances. The six struck by Adil Rashid, who appear to be in fantastic form. “He has worked on it and is a terrific white ball cricketer, as he revealed to the press,” Suresh Raina added.
“He bowls during the powerplay and steps in for his captain if he is required to bowl later.” He also possesses good batting dimension. Looks to attack, has strong intent, and plays very few dot balls, hitting boundaries whenever possible. He is a vital player for LSG,” the four-time IPL champion noted.
After losing their first two games, SRH will seek to rebound against Punjab Kings on Sunday, April 9, at their home venue Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
