Shaheen Shah Afridi is set to return to the Pakistan team for the T20 World Cup. The star bowler already been confirm for the global event in Australia, which begins in October. However, former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi made an astonishing revelation about Shaheen’s treatment process, prompting Wasim Akram to lash out at the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Shahid Afridi stated that Shaheen covered all of his travel and lodging expenses, claiming that the PCB did not assist him financially. Shaheen traveled to the United Kingdom last month for rehabilitation following a knee injury that forced him to miss the Asia Cup 2022, where Pakistan finished runners-up.
Following Shahid Afridi’s comments, the PCB issued a statement confirming that Shaheen Afridi would be reimbursed for the expenses he incurred during his recovery in the UK. Following Shahid Afridi’s shocking revelations and the PCB’s subsequent cover-up with their statement. Akram lash out at the cricket board, claiming that they had been unfair to him.
“Yeh bohot shocking hai,” he says (This is shocking). He’s one of our best…box he’s office. If yeh ladke ko hum nahin dekhenge, yeh sach hai, yeh zyatti hai. PCB did nothing, and Shaheen did everything himself: Shahid Afridi
The information became public shortly after Pakistan’s T20 World Cup roster announce. At the time, chief selector Mohammad Wasim state that Shaheen’s recovery going well and that he is expect to be back in action early next month, just in time for the World Cup.
“Shaheen traveled to England by himself. He purchased his own plane ticket and paid for his own hotel stay. I arranged for him to see a doctor, and he contacted the doctor. PCB isn’t doing anything; he was doing it all by himself. “He pays for everything, from coordination to doctors to his hotel room and food expenses,” Shahid Afridi said.
