On Sunday, India and Pakistan will face off in the Asia Cup. The overwhelming feeling among Indian cricket fans is one of vengeance. Last year, the ‘Men in Blue’ were defeated by their arch-rivals in Dubai. Effectively ending their campaign in the ICC T20 World Cup. Fans will be hoping that India can make amends and beat Pakistan to kick off the Asia Cup on a high note.

The opening bowling spell by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who skittled India’s top order, was a major factor in Pakistan’s victory last year.
Afridi is currently out of action due to a knee injury sustained during the Sri Lanka tour and will miss the match. He is, however, a member of the squad and is currently in the UAE, where all teams are practicing before the tournament begins.
Many videos and photos of players from different teams meeting and greeting each other have circulated on social media.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has shared a video on Instagram of several Indian cricketers meeting Afridi and inquiring about his injury. Yuzvendra Chahal, the first leg spinner, met Afridi and the two shook hands and laughed together.
Following that, Indian batting legend Virat Kohli approached him and inquired about his injury. The two can be seen having a lengthy serious conversation. Later, Afridi can be seen meeting with Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul.
Fans flocked to a previous video in which Kohli went up to meet Pakistan captain Babar Azam and shook hands.
On Saturday, the tournament kicks off with a match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
